Meeting of the Members.
DATE: Wednesday,
November 30, 2005.
TIME: 6:00 p.m. LOCATION: Marinelli's Bar & Grill. ADDRESS: 4924 Rochester Rd., Troy, MI. DIRECTIONS: I-75 to Rochester Rd. exit, then 2 miles North on Rochester Rd. COST: $12.00 per person (includes tax & tip).
North Oakland Mopar Muscle has
reserved the private banquet room at Marinelli's Bar & Grill where
the cuisine will be an "all you can eat" pizza and anti-pasto
salad buffet, including free soda-pop, coffee, tea and a cash
bar. Please pay either Joe Trotta or myself immediately upon
your arrival. Please bring your appetite because N.O.M.M. is
charged by Marinelli's on a per-head basis for every member that
attends the meeting; therefore, if you attend you must pay
(sorry). This meeting will provide valuable information regarding
the Club activities for the rest of this year, including the
selection of our charity to donate, member renewals, our
Anniversary party, the 2006 Autorama Show, and the events for the
first quarter of next year.
7TH ANNUAL ANNIVERSARY
PARTY
As the fall approaches, and we
have to put the cars away for the winter, the planning stages for
the 7th Annual NOMM
Anniversary Celebration start to heat up. The date for this
years Party is Saturday, February 4,
2006. Same place and time
(Fern Hill Country Club for you new members). Invitations will go
out in December. See you there Vicki Hoag
AUTORAMA 2005
Hello club members. We are
abandoning the idea of the all Max Wedge or Cross-Ram Hemi display
this year. At this point in time, no one has contacted me about
being part of that theme display. Also, as part of that display,
we were going to display Mark Tuck’s 62 Belvedere Max Wedge car.
Sue Tuck has informed us that she does not want to display the car
anymore.
Therefore, let this message
serve as our first official announcement that the Club’s six car
display for the 2006 Detroit Autorama car show will be again open
to any member who has not been in this display before. These
opportunities will be on a first come first serve basis. If we do
not receive enough requests from first time car owners, we will
begin accepting requests from members who have previously had
their cars in the display. Please call me direct or send an
e-mail to me if you are interested. The deadline for contacting
me about this opportunity will be December 1st. After this date, I
will begin to contact members directly until I fill the display.
Even though the event is not until February, the staff at Autorama
wants to have the list of our cars as soon as possible after that
date.
I will post updates, to our web
site, with a list of the current responses for being part of the
club display for 2006.
I look forward to hearing from
the membership about the opportunity to be part of this great and
fun winter weekend. Thanks!
THE WOODWARD
CRUISE
The Woodward Dream Cruise was
yet again an extremely successful event. I know that some of you
got caught in the hard rains that came in the morning
and later afternoon, but all in all it was a decent day for
those who made it there.
Woody Wadsworth did an
excellent job again organizing
and making everything fall into place at the
Comerica Bank location. Many
thanks to Terry Talsma, Lee Smith "Chefs De Ala Barbecue", Debbie
Gronowicz and Bev Williams for the handling of the food that was
enjoyed by all. We had a great turnout at the bank and it was
quite a feast. The bank was extremely impressed again at our
performance and despite a leadership change at the bank for this
event, it looks like we are still very welcome at this location!
Mike Pollock (Rocky) and Gary
Cowen (Mick) did an excellent job of securing the Cemetery
location for the members that
were there. They also
organized with Sue Tuck a memorial display for Mark Tuck. Mark's
1962 Belvedere Max Wedge car was there along with many momentum's
of Mark. Thanks to Sue, Mike, and Gary for making this Woodward
Dream Cruise a memorable
one.

I would also like to thank Mike
Garnett for continuing to fight for our ability to utilize the
Cemetery location year after year. We have been told that we may
be the only club that has designated parking next year at this
ever popular location, where the City of Berkely is starting to
sell many of the spots to the public. I hope for everyone
involved that we can maintain our presence at the Cemetery.
Joe Trotta did another fine job
of organizing our Club members who joined the official Dodge
display at the Northwood Shopping Center. It
is my understanding that our Club did an excellent job of "not
backing out" and leaving Joe high and dry at this event. It is
important that once you commit to the official display here at 13
Mile and Woodward, you must show up, and on time. If you do not
show up, Joe has absolutely no chance of replacing you, and the
display therefore suffers. This did not happen this year as you
can see.
MILAN
DRAGWAY
We had another excellent showing at Milan Dragway. this year. The high-lights of the day were the running of the Silver Bullet and Silver Bullet II, The Joe Trotta/ Mike Masich challenge, Keith Wiederhold making many runs without breaking the motor, Chuck Millen's awesome 1965 Dodge Coronet, and Vance Cumming's wild wheel stand. My thanks go out to JoAnne and Alan Hoover for handling the gate to perfection, even though the Milan officials were not very pleasant to deal with for some reason. Milan actually managed to enrage most of us and everyone at the big event after our rental by shutting down that event way before they held the finals of this shootout. I heard a ton of folks left this big event very unhappy, and quite bewildered.
CHARITY DONATION
At the upcoming meeting we will
discuss this year's charity donation. As you will remember, last year,
we purchased tickets for the Stone Soup
Hemi Roadrunner from Michigan's CLF.
CLUB MERCHANDISE
Club
Merchandise will be available for purchase at the meeting, (Tee shirts,
sweatshirts, hats , can coolers, and jackets orders). I also have a
limited number of Window decals available for those who did not receive
one yet.
MEMBERSHIP
RENEWALS
The time has come again to renew your
valuable membership in N.O.M.M. Many of you may not realize, but this
membership fee is refunded to you immediately in the form of a cost
subsidy if you bring a spouse or loved one to the Anniversary Party.
The Club is subsidizing each attending person’s admission fee again to
the party by at least $13.00, and couples in the amount of at least
26.00. Membership renewals are
officially due by December 31, 2005.
If we do not receive your renewal in our P.O. Box by January 15,
2006, your name will be deleted
from the Club roster. I have attached a renewal form for you to fill out
and return to our P.O. Box. Please do
not forget that our waiting list is as usual pretty long, therefore
their are plenty of folks willing to take your place in the Club, so
please do not delay in renewing!
